• Eurostar has an excellent safety record. Each of its trains have a number of safety features that make it one of the safest trains in the world...
• Eurostar is the only rail operator in the world to impose a passenger screening procedure at all of its terminals.
• The fireproofing systems for safe transit through the Channel Tunnel are unique. These include the extensive use of fire resistant materials, heavy gauge insulation of cables and fire doors between each carriage.
• The driving cab features modern train protection systems, including the French automatic system TVM-430, which is used on the new Channel Tunnel Rail Link. The UK standard TPWS system has been fitted. All on board crew (Train Managers and Drivers) are trained in first aid.
• All passengers are required to go through a security screening process before boarding, much like the check-in procedures at any airport. Eurostar will x-ray all luggage and security screen all passengers and their hand luggage.
